Ernest Thesiger lived and worked in London throughout most of World War II.  For a graphic depicting the bombs dropped on his neighborhood of Kensington and Chelsea, please visit Bomb Sight.  During July of 1944, Ernest appeared as Malvolio in a production of “Twelfth Night” at the Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park.  A bomb was dropped nearby during one performance.  Ernest’s house sustained slight damage from concussion during the war years.

During June of 1941, Ernest exhibited “Military Objectives?” a series of works depicting bombed London churches.
